Stephanie Llacuna, CFRE

President

Stephanie Llacuna is a Philanthropy Officer at Dayton Children’s Hospital Foundation where she is responsible for cultivating and stewarding philanthropic support at the major gift level. She also manages the foundation's grant program and drives  the strategic planning and marketing of Dayton Children's planned giving program.

 

Stephanie previously served on the AFP Board as President-Elect, Vice President of Membership, and Chair of Fundraising Day and Fundraising Essentials. Prior to joining the Development team at Dayton Children’s, Stephanie served as Development Manager for Clothes That Work, and as Development Director for Discover Classical (Dayton Public Radio).  In addition to fundraising, she is the mother of two daughters and is a solo and orchestral harpist and harp teacher throughout Dayton and surrounding areas.

Sharon G. Smith, CFRE

Immediate Past President

Sharon is an experienced development professional with proven success in developing fundraising strategies.  Sharon joined the Five Rivers MetroParks team in 2018 as the Corporate Giving and Grants Manager where she is responsible for seeking alternative revenue for the MetroParks, primarily from foundations and corporations.

She previously served 12 years as the Annual Giving and Scholarships Officer for Sinclair Community College, 5 years as the Director of Development and Marketing for Carillon Historical Park, and 2 years as Assistant Development Director at Archbishop Alter High School.

Sharon earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Dayton.  She currently serves as the Immediate Past President on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Dayton Chapter and on the Committee on Directorship for AFP International.  She has previously served as Secretary, Treasurer, President-Elect, President, NPD Chair and on several AFP Committees for our local chapter.  Sharon was awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential for fundraising professionals which recognizes tenure in the profession and demonstrated fundraising achievement.

Rosie Melia

President Elect

Rosie Melia joined Victoria Theatre Association’s (VTA) Development team in 2014, and currently works as VTA’s Grants and Campaign Manager. She has been a fundraising professional for nearly 20 years, working with non-profit organizations in Dayton, Ohio and Kansas City, Missouri. In her current role she manages VTA’s Next Stage Campaign as well as the organization’s grants program. Throughout her career she has also directed annual fund and membership programs, organized events and donor activities, and secured support through grants from local, regional and national funders. Rosie is a member of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). She is on the Board of the AFP Greater Dayton Region Chapter and currently serves as the President Elect.

Lee Truesdale

Treasurer

Lee Lauren Truesdale is the Chief Development Officer at The Foodbank, the Miami Valley’s largest hunger relief network. A graduate of Wright State University twice over, she fell into fundraising six years ago…because she’s clumsy like that, and hasn’t left since. She currently serves as AFP Greater Dayton Region Chapter’s Treasurer.

Tess Vella

Secretary

Tess Vella serves as the Donor Communications Specialist at Ohio’s Hospice, where she creates and manages fundraising through direct mail for all of Ohio’s Hospice affiliates, covering nearly 40 counties in the region.  Previously, Tess worked for the Dayton Business Journal and soon entered the non-profit world, working for the Victoria Theatre Association and the Dayton Region Manufacturer’s Association.  As a trained writer, Tess brings a unique and adaptable writing style to many industries, from food and beverage, manufacturing, and healthcare.  Tess attended The University of Dayton, graduating with a degree in English Literature and an emphasis in Creative Writing.  She lives in Downtown Dayton.

Adam Blanchard, CFRE

VP of Programming

Adam Blanchard serves as the Director of Donor Engagement at Dayton Children's Hospital Foundation. Throughout his career, he has been engaged in fund development and strategic leadership and maintains a strong passion for fundraising and philanthropy.

He is a member of both the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, serving on the board for AFP Greater Dayton.

Blanchard holds a Masters degree from St. Joseph’s University and a Bachelors degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is married to Tracy and they have two young children.

Jostin Schimmoeller, MA

VP of Communications & Marketing

Jostin Schimmoeller is the Dayton region, Community Relations Manager of Equitas Health.  In his role, he coordinates all of Equitas Health Dayton’s signature and special events, including Masquerage, RED Dayton, and Brunch with a Queen.  He manages these events as well as the Dayton area’s Associate Board of community leaders, who assist him with all areas of event planning and execution. Jostin earned his Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Antioch University and his undergraduate degree from Wright State University.  Jostin uses his background in mental health to effectively manage volunteers, and inform the work he does with Equitas Health. As a Dayton transplant he has enjoyed being welcomed into the community, and is overjoyed to be able to call such a philanthropic location as home.

Antoinette Hampton, MBA

VP of IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access)

Antoinette Hampton serves as Associate Vice President of Resource Development at United Way of the Greater Dayton Area where she is responsible for cultivating corporate and individual donors, volunteers, and advocates to help meet the mission of United Way. Prior to joining United Way, Antoinette worked as an Income Support Specialist for Montgomery County Department of Job and Family Services, Fundraising Consultant for Between Us Friends Consulting, and Development Associate for Wernle Youth & Family Treatment Center. Antoinette graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral and Social Science from Indiana University and a Master’s of Business Administration in Executive Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. Antoinette serves as the Diversity Chair for AFP, an Ambassador for the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Volunteer Committee for the Chamber Challenge Golf Outing. Antoinette is an accomplished professional and has a deep passion for helping others through her work and volunteer services.

Brenda Cox

VP Membership

Brenda has worked in fundraising for almost eight years.  She started her fundraising career at the Dayton Area Chapter Red Cross as the Relationship Coordinator and later became the Regional Donor Coordinator for the Greater Cincinnati-Dayton Region where they covered 36 counties/10 chapters of gift management.  In 2013, she began working at Five Rivers MetroParks as the Development Coordinator and was promoted to the Philanthropy Manager in the fall of 2018.  At Five Rivers MetroParks she works with three foundations where she manages the membership programs and individual giving.  She has been a member of AFP since 2013, and involved in the membership committee.
