We all start from somewhere, and it isn’t always easy to go from being managed to The Manager. What you might picture to be a straight shot to a leadership role is often a bumpier path. Join two long-time Dayton professionals who will help navigate the complicated layers of managing a staff of fundraisers at every level.

This program is for anyone who is hoping to become a leader in their field someday, if you are a new in your leadership role, or if you feel as if you’ve hit a few more bumps in the management road as of late. Join us for a morning-long presentation and discussion to help build your skills and empower you and your team!

Adam Blanchard, Dayton Children’s, will discuss his humbling experience leading a staff, and ways he learned to balance in his leadership through challenges.

Dona Vella, DONAtions Inc., will recount her long history of reporting to, and leading a board. Managing personalities and answering to a larger group while still garnering their buy-in and participation in fundraising.

Both speakers will talk about self-empowerment, challenging yourself and your team, battling imposter syndrome, managing up, and more. The group will have time for open dialogue, Q&As, and we will work through case studies where your leadership-muscle can be flexed as we explore real-life examples of the tough decisions all leaders must face, especially when donors are watching!
