February 15th, 2012: "Branding and Fundraising: Understanding the Importance of Your Brand"
Why
do people give to specific organizations and not others? Why are some
organizations “top of mind” while others are relatively
unnoticed?
Donor loyalty could be one answer, but
name recognition could be another. Branding plays an important
role in the development process, and understanding what your
organization’s brand says may have a dramatic impact on your bottom
line.
At February’s AFP meeting, Richard Kaiser from the Ohlmann
Group will address the importance of brand awareness and the
development process. Richard Kaiser is a Marketing
Strategist, playing an active role in assessing client’s needs and
implementing the best means for them to increase their market share. He
specializes in assisting clients with understanding how digital
marketing and social media can work for them or against them. He
plays an active role in the community by serving on the boards for Muse
Machine, Dayton Opera, and Generation Dayton and has worked at United
Rehabilitation Services. Richard understands nonprofits and how
brand messaging can and does affect an organization’s ability to raise
money.
